Winners List for Fraser’s Hill International Bird Race 2022

Here is the winners list for the Fraser’s Hill International Bird Race 2022, which was held from 22 to 23 July in the vicinity of Bukit Fraser in Pahang. And this was the 33rd time the oldest bird race and festival in Malaysia was organised.

Overall, about 70 teams participated in the student, novice and advanced categories with over 210 participants, making this one of the largest participation from local and international in years.

The bird race and photography contest was flagged at 1.00 PM, just after the official opening of Fraser’s Hill International Bird Race 2022 at the main Bird Interpretive Center in town. The race was technically a 24-hour race, where participants could also race at night.

Participants choose to rest for the evening and continue early morning on the following day before submitting their log books by noon on 24 July, Sunday.

And this time around, the Regent and 4th Crown Prince of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, was the Royal guest of honour as his majesty gave out the prizes to the winners of the bird photography contest and bird race.

And I would also like to thank everyone for taking part and making this event a success, especially the foreign teams that came down and the locals from Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Penang and Singapore.

Till then, I hope to see more participants in the next Fraser’s Hill International Bird Race 2023, which will be held at the same venue. Dates will be announced once I get confirmation from the organisers—meanwhile, happy birding.
