The Asian Bird Fair 2025 recently concluded in successful fashion. The 14th iteration of the Asian Bird Fair was held between 31 October and 3 November 2025 and was hosted by Seosan City, South Korea. The event venue was the Seosan Birdland, a dedicated birdwatching, ecotourism and conservation area situated on the coastline of Cheonsuman Bay.

Introduction to the Asian Bird Fair
First, a short intro to the Asian Bird Fair. For those unaware, the Asian Bird Fair has been held annually since 2010, skipping only the pandemic years. Three passionate birdwatchers, Michael Lu (Philippines), Victor Yu (Taiwan), and Andrew Sebastian (Malaysia), created it to highlight bird fairs across Asia, promote the protection of birds and their habitats, and encourage birdwatching and other ecotourism activities. The event has since expanded to include birdwatching companies worldwide.

Asian Bird Fair 2025
Unfortunately, Birdwatching Asia wasn’t able to attend the Asian Bird Fair 2025. Nevertheless, fret not, as we still had eyes and ears on the ground at Seosan. Special thanks to our friend Phillip You of Optisan Optics for taking the time to take photos and provide a general impression of the event. Additionally, some of the pictures below were taken by one of the event’s designated photographers and shared with all participants.

Birding Day
On the last day (3rd November), delegates participated in a birding tour at Cheonsuman Bay. This bay is a crucial stopover for numerous migratory birds. Among the birds spotted by the delegates are Eurasian Spoonbills, Cinereous Vultures, Oriental Storks and thousands of Bean Geese.
The next ABF?
The 15th iteration of the Asian Bird Fair will be held in Xiamen, China. The fair will be held on 26 – 30 November 2026.
Conclusion
It certainly seemed that everyone had a great time at the Asian Bird Fair 2025. The event was a resounding success. Moreover, Cheonsuman Bay and Seosan Birdland appear to be excellent places for birdwatching and ecotourism. We at Birdwatching Asia would like to congratulate the organisers and everyone involved in planning and executing such a big event. We do not doubt that the Asian Bird Fair 2026 will be similarly successful.
