Kenting National Park, located on the Hengchun Peninsula at the southernmost tip of Taiwan, is renowned as Taiwan’s first national park. Its rich ecological resources and moderate geographical location make it a vital stopover for migratory birds, with over 200 species recorded, particularly during the autumn raptor migration.

The park hosts a variety of raptor-watching activities each year, and this year is no exception. Highlights include special exhibitions on birds of prey, on-site interpretation sessions, and drawing activities suitable for all ages. Visitors can also participate in raptor-watching tours and attend the much-anticipated Eagle Watching Expo, making it a fantastic opportunity for education and enjoyment in this unique natural setting.

Established in 1982, Kenting National Park is one of Taiwan’s earliest national parks. It was created after World War II and is located in Pingtung County. The park features diverse terrains, including coastal forests, low-elevation primary forests, and striking landscapes like uplifted coral reefs.

This variety of ecosystems supports a rich biodiversity, making it a crucial area for conservation and ecological study. The unique environmental conditions contribute to the park’s status as a key habitat for numerous species, enhancing its significance in regional conservation efforts.
