The Taman Negara Bird Count 2023 is taking place from 21-23 July at Kuala Tahan, Jerantut, in the state of Pahang, Malaysia. This is also the 10th time the bird count is happening at one of Malaysia’s oldest national parks.
Taman Negara Bird Count 2023
This year’s theme is Ekspedisi Bukit Aguh Kuala Tahan, or the Bukit Aguh Expedition at Kuala Tahan, where the bird count will be focused. At the time of writing this article, there is no other available information.
Last year, participants visited Tembeling Valley to do the bird count, but I am unsure if it was only there as I did not participate. But I have been there for several years before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Back then, I did some birdwatching at Hornbill Valley in Kuala Tahan, when it was still relatively unknown to many, but after the pandemic, more people started to visit this place. You can always contact the organisers below, as a mobile number is available to ask questions.
