The Asian Bird Fair 2024 will be held at Las Pinas in the Philippines, as it was officially announced during the handover dinner, which was held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, in October 2023. Sabah was the main host for ABF2023.
Asian Bird Fair 2024
Las Piñas is one of the highly urbanised cities in the Philippines with deep respect for the environment. It is located south of Manila and is known nationwide for its bamboo organ, salt beds, and jeepney factories. This place is also distinguished as one of Metro Manila’s fastest-growing communities.
One of the popular locations is the Las Pinas-Paranaque Wetland Park, a 175-hectare protected area in the south of Manila Bay and is home to various species of migratory birds and fishes.

The Las Pinas-Paranaque Wetland Park is a protected area at the coasts of the cities of Las Piñas and Parañaque in Metro Manila, Philippines. The entire wetland is a declared Ramsar site under the Ramsar Convention of UNESCO.
According to eBird, there has been a record of 161 species of birds at Las Pinas-Paranaque to date. You can also get additional up-to-date information from the official LPPWP Facebook page.

Las Piñas–Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA)
This area comprises two primary islands: Freedom Island and Long Island. The area is covered with mangroves, ponds and lagoons, mudflats, salt marshes, and mixed beach forests.[13] The entire LPPCHEA covers an area of 181.63 hectares (448.8 acres); about 114 hectares (280 acres) of which are by tidal mudflats, and 30 hectares (74 acres) of which are by its mangrove forest
The LPPCHEA contains a mangrove forest and swamps providing a habitat for many migratory bird species, which devises the East Asian–Australasian Migratory Flyway. At least 41 recorded migratory birds are coming from as far as China, Japan, and Siberia in the protected area.
The migration season is from August to April, and there could be 5,000 individual birds daily. Among these birds are the Little Egret, Black-Crowned Night Heron, and the Common Moorhen. Among the endemic species in the area is the Philippine Duck, and the LPPCHEA is the only known breeding ground for the ducks in Metro Manila.
